A sub inspector of the Meghalaya police was suspended on Tuesday on the charge of dereliction of duty in connection with the escape of three Pakistani terrorists from New Delhi.
The incident took place on January 1 when Abdul Razzak, Mohammed Sadiq and Rafaqat Ali were being escorted to a hospital for treatment by Meghalaya Police personnel on deputation with the Delhi Police's Special Branch.
A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced on Sunday by the Delhi Police for anyone providing information on the three Pakistani terrorists who escaped while being escorted to a city hospital. They also released the pictures of the trio for identification.
Three Pakistani terrorists, who had completed their jail term for triggering blasts near Red Fort in 2000, escaped while being taken to the G B Pant Hospital in the national capital.
